Our Mission

"The Mission of the San Juan Island Chamber of Commerce is to promote and enhance the economic vitality of our community and support our membership through educational programs, visitor information services, and community events which reflect our unique island culture."

The San Juan Island Chamber of Commerce was established to bring the benefits of a Chamber of Commerce to the local business owners of the community. The Chamber of Commerce has approximately 272 members and supports dozens of island events, scholarships and programs.

The Board of Directors has established this website pursuant to the Mission Statement and for the mutual benefit of our members and users of the Internet.

Annual Events

26th Annual San Juan Island Artists Studio Tour – June 2 &3 2018 - A group of mutually supportive San Juan Island artists who open up their personal studio spaces, often including artistic gardens, to the public for an entire weekend at the end of spring each year.  This free community event celebrates the way they work and live.  In addition to displaying their work, including sculpture, jewelry, pottery, printmaking, glass, fiber and fine art, they share insights into how their art is created and what inspires and motivates them in their chosen media.

The 4th of July - 4th of July Parade voted one of the 10 best small towns parades in the Nation, starting at 10:30 a.m. The Kiwanis Pig War BBQ at the San Juan Island Historical Museum starts after the parade, with the day ending with music at the Port of Friday Harbor, dinner time, followed by the Fireworks Display at dusk, approximately 10:00 p.m.

16th Annual Lavender Festival - ​July 14 & 15 at Pelindaba Lavender Farm. ​Tours and exhibits, artists booths, and exhibits survey the entire process - from field to finished product. The fields are open for strolling, relaxing and breathtaking photo ops.​

October - Savor the San Juans
Friday Harbor Film Festival - October 25-28 Featuring 3 days of award winning documentary films about the diverse cultures and environments of the Pacific Rim. Films will feature fascinating island cultures, revealing marine ecology, heroic adventures, sustainable agriculture, social justice, current environmental issues and stirring human interest stories.​

Island Lights Festival Holiday Celebration and Friday Harbor Winterfest - A month long of Something for Everyone Weekends in December. December 1st is the Island Lights Festival.  Join us for a fun filled evening, starting off with an open house at the Whale Museum, then down to the Memorial Park where we meet Santa, light the tree, sing Christmas carols, then up to Brickworks for crafts with Island Rec, the Ag Guild's Soup with Santa and pictures with Santa!
