The islands are served by the ferry terminal in Anacortes. By car, take I-5 to the Burlington exit (exit 230), travel west on Highway 20 to Anacortes and follow the signs to the ferry terminal.

Fly to The San Juan Island

Kenmore Air 866-435-9524 has a choice of several daily flights direct to Friday Harbor airports from various Seattle-area locations.

San Juan Airlines 800-874-4434 have regularly scheduled flights between the mainland and San Juan Island. San Juan Airlines flies from Anacortes and Bellingham.

Westwind Aviation 360-378-6991 provides on-demand air charter services to the San Juans from anywhere in the Pacific Northwest.

​Friday Harbor Sea Planes (425) 277-1590 riday Harbor Seaplanes provides scheduled and charter seaplane flights to and from Friday Harbor and Seattle.
If you are traveling on a private plane, The Port of Friday Airport has a 3400 by 75 foot runway, 12,500 pound weight limit, and 45 spaces for guest aircraft.


Washington State Ferries
Getting here is half the fun aboard a Washington State Ferry and reservations are now available at to help make trip planning easier and more predictable. 
Fares vary according to the size and height of your vehicle, as well as the number of passengers you carry. Children under age five travel free, while children ages 5-11 travel at half fare. Persons 65 and older, as well as disabled passengers, travel at a reduced rate. Round-trip fares are collected on all travel from east to west, whether from Anacortes or inter-island. Return tickets are not required on any ferry runs except those from Sidney, B.C. 
There is parking available at the Anacortes Ferry Terminal whereby cars can be left behind and passengers can just walk on the ferry. There are 1,265 spaces in three parking lots. The Washington State Ferries make two daily trips from Anacortes to Sidney, B.C. during the summer months. Reservations for the Sydney trip are encouraged and can be made by calling 800.808.7977
