YACHT CLUB NEWS:
The 23rd annual "Round San Juan Island Race" will be held May 15 and 16 with a barbeque at Snug Harbor the night of the 15th. The event is sponsored by the San Juan Isand Yacht Club and the race chairperson is LIbby Thompson. For race instructions and applications contact Libby at 378-8262 (w) or 378-0885 (h). This event is open to all boats, racers or cruisers. There will be two racing divisions, PHRF and Cruising.

COMMUNITY APPRECIATION DAY!!!
Sponsored by Windermere and the businesses of the Sustainable Technology Center. Tuesday, May 25th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Come meet "Who’s New" at the Center. Hot dogs, popcorn, refreshments and a celebration cake will be served. There will be music, building tours, tents, free drawaings and fun in the sun.

CHAMBER NEWS:
Jody Price is now managing our office on Guard Street, at the top of the stairs in the Journal Building. She will maintain office hours M-Th, 11 am to 3 pm. She moved to the San Juans in 1993 with her husband and 3 children. She comes with experience in customer service and business management and will enjoy contact with both you and your customers. Stop by and say hi!

FRIDAY HARBOR ART STUDIO
: Just a quick reminder that Howie Rosenfeld has retired as Friday Harbor Fire Chief so he can keep regular business hours daily from 9:30 to 5:30. The Art Studio is in its 5th year of full-service picture framing. Howie keeps an extensive inventory of moulding, matboard, glass, etc. so same-day service is a possibility. The Art Studio also sells individual sheets of matboard and foamcore, along with other framing supplies and an expanding stock of quality ready-made frames. Other services include object repair (a ceramic eagle and a wooden Cuchina doll, both busted by rambunctoius cats, were successful recent repairs) Commercial discounts up to 20% are available and all work is guaranteed.
