September Chamber Member Meeting

On Tuesday September 14the at 5:30, the Chamber of Commerce is going to host a meeting at the San Juan Island Golf and Country Club.

As most of you already know, the Chamber of Commerce is supporting and promoting the reestablishment of the EDC (Economic Development Council) in San Juan County, and Tom Shaughnessy, the executive Director for the Island and San Juan County EDC will be at the meeting to discuss the transition.

This meeting will be full of great information and is one that you should not miss.

As Summer winds down, I am looking forward to a productive Fall. The Board has scheduled a work meeting for September 9th. To restructure the services and fees. We will also discuss the upcoming membership drive, the BRE (Business Retention and Expansion) and to discuss how many Board positions are to be filled in the November election. We should have a great update for all of our members at the September 14th meeting, at the San Juan Golf and Country Club at 5:30pm.

Summer is busy for all of us, but I want to thank all the members that attended the August meeting which was at Selena's Dance Workshop. Thank you Selena Forster! The workshop has been wonderfully remodeled, making it an even better place to take a dance class. Call Selena and find out all the great classes that are available.

On a serious note, town and county elections will be upon us soon. Please take time to speak with the candidates, find out who and what they are really about. Let's choose candidates that will represent us well--this time around.
