Talley's Folly is a romantic comedy that unfolds in a Victorian boathouse on the Talley farm in Missouri during the Fourth of July. The play follows the courtship of Matt Friedman, a Jewish accountant, and Sally Talley, a young woman from a conservative Protestant family. Despite facing societal pressures and personal scars, they find love and acceptance in each other's company. The play is known for its candid storytelling and the way it navigates themes of love, societal pressure, and self-acceptance.
