Join us for a free community screening of A DREAM TAKES FLIGHT, winner of Best Documentary – Explorers & Adventures at the 2024 Friday Harbor Film Festival. This inspiring film follows aviator John Norman’s 7-year journey to build and fly the most authentically accurate replica of the Spirit of St. Louis—the aircraft that made Charles Lindbergh’s transatlantic flight legendary.
Filmed in the breathtaking San Juan Islands, the documentary features rare historical footage, expert insights, and thrilling in-flight views from Norman’s completed aircraft. The screening will be followed by a livestream Q&A with John Norman, offering a unique opportunity to hear directly from the subject of the film.
