Art, Conservation and the Stories of CRUSH — An Artist Talk by Kenda Francis

April 12 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Free

Join us at the San Juan Islands Museum of Art (SJIMA) for an engaging artist talk with Kenda Francis. Her current exhibition, "Crush," is on view in the North Gallery through June 2, 2025. During this special event, Kenda will share insights into her creative process, the conservation stories behind her bold, street-art-inspired works, and how her vibrant mixed media paintings give voice to endangered wildlife.

After her talk, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with Kenda. The event is free to attend and open to all.

Learn how Kenda creates powerful, street-art-inspired works that highlight both the beauty and struggles of animals threatened by human actions. Her vibrant paintings made from layers of spray paint, stencils, and mixed acrylic media tell stories of defiance, resilience, and the urgent need for conservation.
