Friends of the San Juans is partnering with the Friday Harbor Film Festival and the San Juan County Stewardship Network for a special screening of FISH WAR. This illuminating documentary, produced by The Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission, highlights the violent struggle faced by Indigenous Nations to exercise their treaty-protected right to harvest salmon in the Pacific Northwest. This year marks the 50th year anniversary of the Boldt Decision, which ultimately led to an end of the protests and how fisheries are managed here in Washington State.
