San Juan Islands Museum of Art Fall Exhibitions

November 22 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
Event Series (See All)
$10

Fall Exhibitions pay tribute to the world above and below with three distinct exhibits in the Museum’s three galleries, September 26 – December 1, www.SJIMA.org.

Kelp! Reverberations - Atrium Gallery  - Josie Iselin, Betsy Peabody, Ken Pearce, Jonathan Kawchuk

Step into a luminous kelp forest brought to life through cyanotype banners, oceanic soundscapes, and sculptures that celebrate marine ecology. Kelp! Reverberations is sponsored in part by Above/Below, the Puget Sound Restoration Fund, and Washington Sea Grant.

All is a Circle within Me - Nichols Gallery - Emily McIlroy

A meditation on time, spirit, and connection, Emily McIlroy’s work interweaves geometric abstraction and organic figuration to explore the circle as a symbol of unity across cultures and lifeways. Emily's works are created using either ink and collage on paper or pastel, colored pencil, and acrylic on gessoed paper.

Complex Simplicity - North Gallery

Jan Hoy

With elegant restraint, Jan Hoy sculpts form into movement—minimal, contemplative works shaped by years of inquiry and inspired by the Pacific Northwest landscape. Her chosen material is clay with an iron-oxide finish; however, she also works in steel and bronze.
