The Friday Harbor Film Festival returns October 23–26 with the largest lineup in our history! From more than 189 submissions, our Selection Committee has curated a schedule of 34 feature documentaries, 21 short films, and 14 inspiring shorts in the Young Filmmakers Showcase. With so many stories to experience, planning ahead is more important than ever.
Program Guide: The full color 60-page guide is here! Read about all the films and events happening at the festival in the on-line flipbook at fhff.org. Pick up your own colorful printed copy from the rack at the Film Festival Office, 10 First St., on the corner of First and West Streets, and in locations around Friday Harbor. Use the program guide to plan your perfect festival weekend, choosing special events and no-to-be-missed documentaries. Explore the festival film-by-film online with detailed descriptions, trailers, and filmmaker bios.
Reserved seating: New this year! Select your seats beginning October 4, ensuring that you can view the films you prefer. All Access Pass Holders can reserve seats starting October 1.
Passes and Tickets: A pass provides a bundle of ticket “credits” you can use to order tickets and lock in your seats well before festival weekend. Individual tickets are available for $15 ($18 at the door), but if you plan to see more than a couple of films, buying a pass is the best way to go. Visit fhff.org/passes to review all pass types and click “Purchase on Eventive” to buy yours. Once purchased, you’ll be able to order tickets and reserve seats. Be sure to claim your FREE tickets to the Filmmakers Forum and Audience Choice Awards, as tickets are needed for entry.
Record Number of Filmmakers Attending: The majority of screenings will feature an in-person filmmaker Q&A. Filmmakers who can’t attend will “appear” in pre-recorded video interviews following their films. This is what sets the festival apart, offering much more than seeing great movies! Hear from directors and producers about their filmmaking process at the Filmmakers Forum and interact with them informally all weekend.
Changes for 2025: To offer so many documentaries, each one will be shown one time. With twice as many films in the lineup, this change ensures more variety and discovery opportunities. All will be in-theatre only.
Volunteer: Be a part of the festival, earn free tickets and other perks. The Friday Harbor Film Festival runs on the energy and dedication of our volunteers—without you, the magic wouldn’t happen! Whether you can give a few hours or a few days, there’s a role waiting for you. Check this out at fhff.org/volunteer.
